The love we had was oh so great.
We never seem to appreciate
What we have until it’s too late.
We had so much to hold on to.
I can’t believe I said goodbye to you.
You touched my soul in such a way
I can’t believe I didn’t let you stay.
The tenderness that we shared
was something that was beyond compare
The reason I said goodbye had nothing to do with you
It was things that were going on in my life
and I was confused and didn’t know what to do
If I knew then what I know now
I would have found a way to get us through somehow.
The tears I’ve cried, I cannot hide.
I wish you were still here by my side.
Maybe if I wait long enough
And send some prayers for help from above
We’ll find a way to rekindle our love.
