Wishing Upon A Star

As I sit here wishing upon a star
I have no idea where you are.
My wish is that you will come back to me
so I can be happy like I should be.
I don’t know why you went away
I tried and tried to get you to stay.
Since you have been gone
I’ve been so blue
I really don’t know what to do.
I guess you shouldn’t be so important to me.
But no matter how I try
that it how it seems to be.
I have had loves in the past.
But never one that seemed to last.
I thought you were different from the rest,
but I guess I was just seeing you at your best.
Maybe things will change and you will come back to me,
and you will realize it is where you are supposed to be.
I know you have strong feelings for me.
If you stop running and give our relationship a chance,
ours will be a great romance.
I will keep sitting here wishing upon a star,
and hope no matter where you are,
you will think of me, and know by my side
is where you should be.
